Die EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH
Our history
EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH is a merger of the companies EPIGAP Optronic GmbH and OSA Opto Light GmbH.
Since the mid-90s, the name EPIGAP has stood for know-how in the production of LED chips and photodiode chips. The product range was expanded and sharpened in the following years and today also includes LEDs, SMDs, detectors and customer-specific CoB modules in series of small and medium quantities.
OSA Opto Light was newly founded in July 2002 from the companies OSA-Elektronik GmbH and SLI Miniature Lighting GmbH and has more than 30 years of experience in research, development and production of LED chips and SMD LEDs.
Together, our companies look back on over 50 years of experience in semiconductor technology with a specialization in the development and production of LED chips, LEDs, SMDs, detectors and customized solutions. We are based in Berlin on the grounds of the Wuhlheide Innovation Park and have been working together successfully for several years. That is why we see our merger as a natural step.
Our goals for the future
EPIGAP OSA Photonics GmbH follows the spirit of the times and continuously improves its production techniques, taking into account the markets’ demands for miniaturization and efficiency and the current standards of chip manufacturing, as well as the environmentally conscious thinking of modern society.
Our specific goals for the next few years are:
- Expansion of production capacities in chip manufacturing
- Implementation of the certification of ISO standard 13485 for medical devices
- Development and expansion of production techniques to technologies in demand
